Google Marketing Hype & The New Ingress App Reality Game
Google is out again with a brand new product!
This time it’s not a new integrated or spiced up communication tool but something much more fun for your online experience; especially for those who seemingly enjoy playing video games. It is the new augmented reality game called Ingress. If you also wish to spice up your Smart Phone experience, the new Ingress app is the perfect niche to have fun with.
Having the new Ingress app could be an interestingly amazing experience. It is beautifully designed with hallmark features that are easy-to-use to make your online-surfing experience even much better and inclusive, and effectively built to make an impression. For some, this is a perfect Christmas gift from Google to their customers.
Despite the apparently overwhelming attention that had been drawn towards this product by thousands, if not millions of customers around the world, there seem to be a twist to this offer. It is really not an easily accessed product. It is a free gift of obsession from Google. And I will explain why.
Is it a marketing hype?
The requirement is simple: “Sign up and receive an activation code” says Google. Fair enough, you get to be on the list with millions of their customers around the world waiting to get their activation code to start using the new Ingress Reality Game. As a result, you will develop an unpretentious crush towards their new product, just as planned. Before you know it, you end up obsessed and helpless waiting for your activation code, while unconsciously advertising Ingress to people in your circle, since it is much easier for people to believe is the ‘difficult to get’ than they do in the ‘easier to find’.
For starters, the launch with an activation key is purely an online marketing manipulation from Google to create hype and keep everything a bit secret. This was also done by Apple in the past, creating scarcity for their products to make more and more customers want their products even more.
Again, it is a marketing strategy to get you more interested in the new Ingress game by making scarcity of it.
However, the big question should be, is the new Ingress Reality Game worth the wait? One thing is sure, Google is known for their creativity, reputation and dominance. So my guess is, there won’t be such build up if Ingress is rubbish or not worth the hoopla. Whatever Google has to offer is worth experiencing and waiting for because reputation speaks more in the business world.
Aside the business side of Ingress, there is an itch to make Google a hub for online surfing through their versatile integrated services. In other words, the product is definitely worth the wait. Only time will tell the difference of the new Google Ingress Reality Game from other online computer games. But one thing is sure: Google won’t make a rant if it was for nothing.
If you have not signed up yet, please do so before Google changes their mind or put a price tag to the new Ingress app as I anticipate, but if you have signed up, no need to worry it is worth the wait. For reputation sake, Google don’t fail.
Ingress is indeed a complete attention worth the wait.
